2024 Salsa Journeyer Flat Bar Altus 650b
Journeyer Flat Bar Altus 650b is a thoughtful gravel bike with the leverage and upright riding position that flat bars afford. Built with an all-new aluminum frame and Fantail aluminum fork, this flat bar adventure bike is suited to sporty gravel rides or roaming far and wide. Rack and fender mounts offer loads of utility, while the Three-Pack mounts, top tube mount, and bottle mounts let you get creative with your pack list. 650b x 47 mm tires ride with cushiony comfort at low pressures and have a wide contact patch for ample grip, no matter the road surface. With Shimanos reliable Altus 2 x 9 drivetrain, this Journeyer is a flat bar adventure bike that lets you explore your limits.
On-Bike Storage
Carry more on your bike and less on your body. Our frames and forks feature mounts for extra bottles, camping gear, and ride accessories.
6061-T6 ALUMINUM FRAME
We use alloy tubing developed specifically for the Journeyer frame, which is then heat-treated to T6 alloy standards for extra strength and durability.
FANTAIL ALUMINUM FORK
The Fantail fork is constructed from aluminum alloy and designed for a 9 x 100 mm quick-release axle. Fantails two sets of Three-Pack mounts and mid-blade rack mounts let you load up everything you need for your rides. Fender mounts add a touch of all-weather utility, and massive 700c x 56 mm or 650b x 59 mm (27.5 x 2.3") tire clearance lets you choose the wheel and tire setup for your riding conditions.
GRAVEL GEOMETRY
Journeyer is comfortable, stable and confidence inspiring whether its your daily driver, youre ripping up dirt paths through town, exploring unfamiliar terrain, or entering your first gravel race. Spirited when you want it to be, but relaxed enough to leave you with the energy for long rides.
INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING
Full-length housing improves shifting performance in poor conditions and increases use time between maintenance intervals. Internal routing for a clean, uncluttered look.
DROPPER POST ROUTING
Internal dropper post routing makes it easy to outfit your Journeyer for more technical riding.
FLAT-MOUNT BRAKES
Flat-mount brakes offer a clean look, easy setup, and compatibility with most of todays road and gravel brake offerings.
CARGO CAPABILITY
Journeyer features front and rear rack mounts, a Three-Pack mount on each fork leg, a top tube mount, down tube mount, and bottle mounts. With this many options, you can load it up however you like.
650B X 47 MM WHEELS AND TIRES
650b wheels accelerate quickly, and the high-volume 47 mm Teravail Washburn tires blend straight-line speed with confidence in turns on loose terrain.
SALSA SALT FLAT HANDLEBAR
Flat handlebars offer excellent leverage and control, especially when riding on surfaces that demand a little extra attention. Flat handlebars also put you in a comfortable upright position. Our Salt Flat handlebar has 11° back sweep, 6° of up sweep, and zero rise for performance that feels natural.

Journeyer fits both 700c and 650b wheel sizes. We offer models in each size so you can choose the one that meets your needs or set up a second wheel set so your Journeyer is ready for any type of ride.
