2023 ZIPP 808 Firecrest Carbon Tubeless Disc-brake
ZIPPZipp's 808 Firecrest Tubeless Disc-wheelset is pure engineering science. It has to be. To achieve speed with an 82mm rim depth is one thing, but to be fast while offering high crosswind stability, well, that requires serious attention to detail. Yet that's just what the 808 Firecrest Disc brake accomplishes - speed with stability, and tubeless compatibility. That means you get all the aero benefits with having the ability to run lower tire pressure for increased cornering grip and compliance and reduced rolling resistance, without the risk of pinch flats. You also get the greater stopping power of disc brakes. This wheelset is infused with technologies developed in Zipp's Indianapolis advanced development lab. Zipp's ABLC Sawtooth Technology uses a complex dimpling pattern to improve aero efficiency. At the center of the 808 Firecrest Tubeless Disc-brake is a versatile and durable new hubset, the German-engineered ZR1 DB. Zipp's new wheel cosmetics make this wheelset a perfect pairing of speed and style.

Technology
- Carbon Clincher
Our superior Carbon Clincher technology is the culmination of two years of intensive prototyping and testing. We worked with our composites supplier to develop an exclusive heat-resistant resin based on the materials used in motorsports brake systems. This proprietary technology improves heat management so substantially that all Zipp Carbon Clinchers pass stringent CEN safety standards.
- Firecrest
With the industry-changing Firecrest rim shape, Zipp wheels fulfill our missing of making you faster at our most popular rim depths. Not only is Firecrest more aerodynamic than any other rim design, it improves handling in crosswinds and overall ride quality. Firecrest is the first aero profile that effectively controls airflow around the back half of the wheel. Its durability is durable enough for the Spring Classics as well as years of training and racing.
- XDR
The XDR driver body is a universal mounting system for cassettes that incorporate cogs with fewer than 11 teeth. It allows for lighter and more versatile drivetrains without requiring new rear axle standards, cassette tools or hub redesigns. The XDR interface is 1.85mm longer than XD and is designed for road hub applications. XDR driver bodies are compatible with all XD cassettes when the cassette is installed with a 1.85mm spacer.
- ABLC (Aerodynamic Boundary Layer Control)
Advanced Boundary Layer Control (ABLC) refers to the patented and instantly recognizable dimpled pattern found on all of our carbon rims. ABLC smoothes airflow across the rim's surface and is tailored to every model from the 202 to the Super-9 Disc. The third-generation of ABLC has up to four times more dimples than before.
