ITA Bottom Bracket for SRAM GXP Road

Italian bottom bracket shells are typically only found on Italian bikes these days; they measure 70mm wide and have a 35mm inner diameter.

This package has the parts to install your 24/22mm spindle crank into an ITA bb shell. They consist of bearings pressed into threaded cups, which are then threaded into the frame. Those bearings comprise either CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings. Super round, super smooth CeramicSpeed balls rotate in hardened-steel races in both. The Coated version has a metallic coating laid onto the races, making it even smoother and harder, resulting in longer life and lower drag.

In The Box

  • 2 threaded cups with bearings installed.
  • 2 dust covers.
  • 1mm spacer
  • 0.5mm spacer.
  • GXP wave washer.
  • Spacer tube.
  • All Round Grease.
  • Sticker sheet.

Technical Data

The bearings come installed into cups. A sleeve is included to further seal the system from the elements and from rubbing on internal cables. The cups mate with 24/22mm thru-axle spindles.

The Standard Bearings have only 0.3-.04 watts of frictional drag per set, an average drag reduction of 75% compared to stock bottom brackets. This is the result of superior design including hardened-steel races, and ceramic balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. They also last 3x longer.

Coated Bearings last even longer and feature even lower drag. Life is boosted by 60% and drag plummets by 50% compared to our Standard.

All Round Grease is used in the bearings. It can be replaced for lower drag Race Day Grease, or higher durability Long Life Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in when riding through messy conditions.
