INTEGRATED SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY
The all-new Ransom features our Patented Integrated Suspension system in unison with a 6-Bar Linkage. The resulting kinematic allows for maximized downhill capabilities and stability all the while maintaining its status as an efficient pedaler.
VERSATILITY
With versatility being the key for todays' riders, adaptability is an integral part of the bike's DNA to ensure the ride experience can be tailored to personal preferences or different racetrack conditions. This includes adjustable head angle, wheel size compatibility (mullet) and advanced shock compatibility.
NUDE SUSPENSION
The Ransom platform features our NUDE Suspension technology with the Float-X NUDE shock from FOX paired with fork options that favor more adjustability. When you pedal up to have the most fun on the way down, you want a shock that gives you full factory performance when things point downwards, but also a shock that won’t slow you down when you need to ride back up. This is where the Float-X NUDE shines.
INTERNAL STORAGE
The easy access to the inner frame frees further possibilities: Fully integrated in the down tube is the Syncros Matchbox Kit, which contains a Spare tube, Tire levers, Chain Tools and Multitool; This very clean and functional solution is easy to pull out and stow again ensuring one always has the most necessary.
GEOMETRY
The Ransom features a modern enduro geometry combining various aspects for a confidence inspiring ride in the roughest and fastest DH sections, but without compromising the bike’s agility and precision when needed in tight corners and on technical terrain.
FRAME CONSTRUCTION
Developed as a bike for demanding gravity use, the Ransom's frame features meticulously engineered structural strength and even load distribution througout, resulting in a strong bike with outstanding riding characteristics.
SCOTT Ransom 900 RC in review
The new Ransom strikes the perfect balance between smoothness and playfulness. With its versatile suspension, low weight and great climbing performance, the bike covers an extremely wide range of uses
Review: SCOTT Ransom 900 RC
With the new 2024 Ransom 900 RC, SCOTT combine a polarizing look with excellent trail performance. The frame features plenty of clever details, like the storage compartment in the down tube. The new Ransom is efficient on climbs and delivers a tremendous performance downhill, impressing above all with its powerful suspension and direct, balanced handling. All of this makes the SCOTT Ransom 900 RC an awesome all-rounder that delivers plenty of fun on the trail, whether you’re cruising the flow or shredding gnarly enduro trails.
Review: SCOTT Ransom 900 RC
The Ransom's predecessor impressed with its variable chassis and great touring characteristics. While the new edition retains the former, the focus has clearly shifted towards downhill fun. The bike has become more capable and much smoother, and it sits firmly and securely on the trail. Despite the higher weight, it also handles superbly and the new rear suspension is sensitive. As is typical for Scott, the new Ransom also climbs very well. The seat angle and position have been well thought out and the "Tracloc" lever for the shock also works really well. You can clearly feel that the position in "Traction" mode, for example, is more acceleration-oriented. The look with integrated shock may polarize opinions, but one thing is clear: The Ransom is immediately recognizable as a Scott bike.
SCOTT Ransom 900 RC review
My initial impressions were that the bike really crushes downhills. The 6-bar really seems to do some gravity-shredding magic. But really, the first thing I did on the new bike was to pedal it up some super steep rocky & sandy fire road climbs to earn my turns a bit. And popping the new Ransom into reduced-travel traction mode really did turn it into a mountain goat. Thinking back, it’s kinda no surprise that my <16kg test bike reduced to 130mm of rear wheel travel climbed like a regular trail bike. The magic of this bike really feels like the Trac-Loc. That lets it be a killer freeride bike on the descents. And a perfectly reasonable trail bike for the climbs back up. And there really isn’t much of a downside.
SCOTT Ransom 900 RC first ride review
Scott’s Ransom 900 RC has a stiff feel, which helps you plough through rock gardens and pick technical lines. Riders who appreciate refined accuracy will love its rewarding flat-out performance. The supple suspension means it doesn’t punish poor line choice. While some may shun the integrated shock, the Ransom feels a step ahead of other enduro bikes I have tested thanks to its direct handling and hill-climbing prowess.
