2026 POC Kortal MTB Helmet
POCExceptional coverage, uninterrupted ventilation, patented technology and a fully adjustable fit: The MTB helmet where boundaries don't apply.
With extended protection and exceptional ventilation, the Kortal gives next-level trail and enduro protection.
Protective features include the patented breakaway helmet peak, which will break away from the helmet in a fall, helping to reduce the amount of energy transferred to the body.
The detachable helmet peak can also be adjusted and raise higher on the helmet, so that goggles or sunglasses can be stored on the helmet below the peak. The rear ventilation holes are also shaped so that sunglasses can be securely stored in them
Developed for complete protection, the helmet gives a Seamless Fit with the Ora goggles, and is designed so that the goggle strap does not cover any ventilation - helping ensure you stay cool.
The helmet is also certified to the Dutch NTA 8776 electric bicycle helmet standard, currently the only standard for electric bikes, making the helmet a good choice for anywhere an electric bike is ridden.

Certification
CPSC 1203
The CPSC 1203 standard is the mandatory bicycle helmet requirement for the United States. It evaluates impact absorption, strap and buckle strength, and overall helmet stability to ensure reliable protection in common crash scenarios. Helmets meeting CPSC 1203 provide the safety performance required for cycling on roads, paths and trails across the US. This standard is the equivalent to CE EN but the rules are slightly more stringent in terms of the impact test, meaning helmets can meet the CE EN 1078 standard with thinner foam and lighter weight than the US CPSC 1203.
EN 1078
EN 1078 is the European safety standard for cycling, skate and roller-sports helmets. It assesses impact protection, retention-system performance, chin-strap durability and field of vision. A helmet certified to EN 1078 meets the safety criteria for use throughout Europe, offering dependable protection for everyday riding and sport cycling.
NTA 8776
NTA 8776 is a certification developed specifically for e-bike and speed pedelec helmets, reflecting the higher speeds and increased impact forces associated with assisted cycling. The standard requires helmets to be tested at higher impact energies than conventional bicycle certifications and includes extended coverage around vulnerable areas of the head, helping ensure protection is better suited to the demands of e-bike riding.
