Certification

EN 1078

EN 1078 is the European safety standard for cycling, skate and roller-sports helmets. It assesses impact protection, retention-system performance, chin-strap durability and field of vision. A helmet certified to EN 1078 meets the safety criteria for use throughout Europe, offering dependable protection for everyday riding and sport cycling.

NTA 8776

NTA 8776 is a certification developed specifically for e-bike and speed pedelec helmets, reflecting the higher speeds and increased impact forces associated with assisted cycling. The standard requires helmets to be tested at higher impact energies than conventional bicycle certifications and includes extended coverage around vulnerable areas of the head, helping ensure protection is better suited to the demands of e-bike riding.

Race Lock

The Race Lock integrated adjuster makes it easy to find a comfortable, secure fit.

Open grill

The grill in the mouthpiece has an open structure to allow for maximum airflow while still preventing mud and dirt from hitting your face.

Aramid Bridges

Aramid bridges are molded to the helmet liner to enhance structural stability and improve penetration protection.

RECCO® Reflector

A RECCO® Reflector helps rescue services easily and quickly locate you if something goes wrong.

NFC Medical ID provided by Twiceme®

Medical info stored on the Twiceme® NFC Medical ID chip can easily be read by co-riders and first responders with a tap of a smartphone.

Removable cheek pads

Cheek pads are easy to remove while riding, giving more ventilation when on the climbs between enduro race stages. An updated snapper keeps the pads secure in the helmet.

The outer Shell is constructed from PC to give exceptional durability.

Injection-moulded cage

The lower part of the liner features an injection-molded cage for extra strength and stability.

Technical Features

The weightless expectation

This innovation process is born of these new demands, especially for helmets which need to protect when the going gets as tough as it gets, and then to be light and airy enough to pedal in all day long. And this is exactly how the Otocon came to be.
