2026 Salsa Stormchaser Single Speed - Silver

Stormchaser is our single-speed gravel bike designed to prevail through bad weather and drivetrain-crunching conditions. The 6066-T6 alloy frame features our Class 5™ VRS (vibration reduction system) for comfort and composure on harsh roads. The compliant carbon fork comes with extra tire clearance and protection plates to prevent wear from muddy tires.

Alternator Flat Mount dropouts allow for solid single-speed setups or 1x drivetrains (with geared dropout plate, sold separately). Frame and fork mounts make it easy to carry extra food and water on long rides, while the rack and fender mounts add a layer of versatility. Stormchaser is a trusty partner for single speed enthusiasts or gravel riders who saddle up no matter what.

Class 5™ VRS

The Class 5™ Vibration Reduction System has specially shaped seatstays with a tall, thin, vertically oriented profile that promotes vertical compliance by allowing the seatstays to "flex" outwards on impacts. The horizontally oriented chainstays work to resist torque and maintain a laterally stiff rear end. The seatstays and chainstays lack bridges, furthering the full length of the stays to contribute to flexibility. And a rear thru-axle delivers precise tracking while allowing the seatstays to provide that incredible compliance

Gravel Race Geometry

Stormchaser features geometry similar to our Warbird gravel race bike. Stormchaser places the rider in a position that can be maintained for hours on end over bumpy B-roads and loose surfaces, drastically reducing fatigue. A low bottom bracket and stable wheelbase help keep the tires planted and boost confidence. A long top tube paired with a short stem provides increased stability at high speed and on rough descents

Multiple Wheel Size Compatibility

Stormchaser fits up to 700c x 50mm OR 650b x 50 mm wheels/tires. Choose the wheel size that best meets your needs, or set up a second wheel set so your Stormchaser is optimized for the ride at hand

Two Cogs

Stormchaser comes with both a 17t and 18t cog installed. Coupled with the sliding Alternator Flat Mount dropouts, this allows for easy gearing adjustments based on route difficulty

Abrasion Plates on Fork

Integrated plates on the fork minimize abrasion from mud and debris

Extra Mud Clearance

Stormchaser has 40% more mud clearance than Warbird (measured with a 700c x 42 mm tire)

15 mm of dropout adjustability (435-450 mm)

Bottle Capacity

2-3 bottle mounts inside main triangle (57.5 cm and above can accommodate 3), 1 accessory mount on underside of downtube, 2 bottle mounts possible on fork via Three-Pack mounts

Fender Mounts

Full-coverage fenders allow for longer, more pleasant rides in wet weather

Wide Bar Spec

Wider handlebars improve leverage for single speeding and control in poor conditions. Bar width is relative to frame size-49 cm bikes come with 40 cm Cowchippers; 61 cm bikes come with 52 cm Cowchippers

Three-Pack Fork Mounts

Two Three-Pack mounts on the fork allow for additional water, food, and accessory storage

Front and Rear Rack Mounts

Mid-blade mounts of the fork allow for front racks such as the Salsa Down Under, designed for carrying touring panniers; also compatible with the Salsa Wanderlust rear rack when used with a Salsa Rack-Lock seatpost collar

Top Tube Accessory Mounts

Top tube bolt-on mounts are designed for Salsa EXP Series Top Tube Bag or K-Edge Top Tube Computer Mount

Internal Cable Routing

Internal tubes guide brake, shift, and dynamo cables through the frame, simplifying setup and maintenance

Stealth Dropper Post Routing

Accommodates 27.2mm dropper posts for more confident descending at high speeds on rough, unpredictable gravel roads
