It evaluates impact absorption, strap and buckle strength, and overall helmet stability to ensure reliable protection in common crash scenarios. This standard is the equivalent to CE EN but the rules are slightly more stringent in terms of the impact test, meaning helmets can meet the CE EN 1078 standard with thinner foam and lighter weight than the US CPSC 1203.
